In The Bag

I love designer clothing... Milly, Tibi, Trina Turk, Theory, Chloe, BCBG, the list goes on. Little if any designer labels hang in my closet thanks to a strict budget, but were I to have the means, I'm sure I would splurge on a few of my favorite pieces. That's clothing. Bags are a completely different story.

I just don't understand designer bags. Sure, I appreciate their shape and luxurious materials and overall design, but the price tags are just not justifiable to me. Sooner or later they'll end up at the bottom of my closet along with all my other bags that have been replaced by newer, prettier models. I don't do fakes either. I mean, what's the point of that? But I do refuse to spend more than $80 on something that I know I'll only use temporarily.

My favorite solution? Francesca's Collections. If y'all have one of these near you, you must stop in. They have amazing bags that are stylish and trendy at great prices. Another great option is a boutique in town called KLa. I also scour TJ Maxx and Marshall's for purses that hit the mark on style without breaking the bank.

What are your thoughts on designer bags. Worth the splurge or totally not?

Luckily, I work part time at a store that sells cute handbags and I get a discount...score!

I am RIGHT there with you... I just CANNOT justify the price.
My mom and sister bought me a bag when they went to Paris... I think it was a bit expensive but I use it every single day as my go-to purse.
I love designer clothes but most certainly not the bags. Now I am off to check out this store you speak of :)

Have a great weekend lovely lady!

I have a Miu Miu and I do get a lot of compliments on it. I admit, though, that it is not necessarily going to last any longer than other bags. The handles are already beginning to show wear (after, I think, around 2 yrs).

I know what you mean about designer bags being pricey! I do have a tendency to buy them though, but I only buy "classic" styles that can be carried with any outfit...that way they don't end up on a shelf in my closet after a month! :)

I do the exact same thing. TJMaxx please! If it is a basic I will spend a little more but if it is trendy I keep it around $30 or $40. I had a coach bag that I got half price bc bff worked there and I used it almost everyday for 2 years. Now I have a gorgie caramel colored leather satchel bag by liz claiborne as my everyday. It's from TJMaxx.
